hairpin
A hair ornament pinned into the hair in an elaborate and/or decorative manner. A hairpin is usually larger than a hairclip and it slides into the hair instead of clasping. It can take the shape of a 'U' such as a bobby pin, or a chopstick with a decorative ornament at the end.
