Soviet second-generation main battle tank of the second half of the Cold War. With over 20,000 produced, the T-72 was widely exported to numerous countries both in and outside of the Warsaw Pact. Many are still in front line service today, in upgraded variants. Most in service are equipped with angled reactive armor on the turret, sometimes with an infrared searchlight on the starboard side of the main gun.
