A gun, normally a handgun, that has a single barrel and a rotating cylinder that contains multiple rounds (usually five or six). The cylinder revolves as the weapon fires.
Revolvers should normally be tagged with handgun, not pistol. A pistol is a handgun that has a magazine instead of a cylinder. Most revolvers are handguns, however there are rare examples of revolver rifles and shotguns.
