A selective-fire battle rifle developed by Heckler & Koch in the 1950s, based on the Spanish CETME Modelo 58. Firing 7.62mm NATO rounds using a roller-delayed blowback mechanism, the G3 and its numerous variants continue to be used by military and law enforcement agencies in many countries.
