browning hi-power
The Browning Hi-Power is a single-action semi-automatic pistol initially designed by John Browning for Fabrique Nationale d'Herstal, and completed after his death by his Belgian assistant Dieudonné Saive. The very long design process was completed in 1935, and the Hi-Power has been used by numerous military and police forces ever since. It fires the 9x19mm Parabellum round and has a 13-round magazine; this was nearly double the capacity of competing designs at the time, and was the source of the "Hi-Power" name.
